POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Human Resources position is an administrative position involving all aspects of the agency's human resource functions. The employee in this class performs duties that include reviewing, analyzing and implementing human resource policies and procedures, budgets, personnel information and reporting. Computer experience, knowledge of human resources law and the agency's administrative functions are preferred.
JOB DUTIES:
- Coordinate agency recruitment and hiring practices and maintain applicant information.
- Administer, review, update, and analyze the agency's performance management tasks.
- Ensure implementation of the agency's compensation and benefit practices, evaluating and updating as necessary, assist with agency personnel budget.
- Administer personnel policies, review, update, and ensure the distribution of policies and procedures as well as employee and supervisory manuals as needed.
- Maintain and audit personnel files and other employee records complying with applicable laws and regulations.
- Generate or review required communication, documentation, correspondence and reports related to HR activities
- Comply with regulations for the administration of mandated benefits (FMLA, COBRA, UC, WC, wage and hour, EEOC, etc).
- Complete agency orientation and training activities, as required.
- Ensure completion of employee termination procedures and documentation.
- Monitor and ensure adequate and cost effective agency insurance coverage, preparing or reviewing applications, renewals, and other documentation as needed.
- Provide consultation responding to personnel related questions and concerns.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree and/or PHR/SPHR and/or HRCI certification and four years of responsible and varied administrative management.
- Extensive training in the field of personnel management
- Advanced computer experience
